Wallace Stephen's "In Search of the Perfect Landscape"

Read these magical lines from my favorite poet, Wallace Stephens. He penned them as a metaphor for finding one's way in life. It also describes the process of a photographer composing a perfect landscape.

“...He had recomposed the pines,

Shifted the rocks and picked his way among clouds,

For the outlook that would be right,

Where he would be complete in an unexplained completion:

The exact rock

where his inexactnesses

Would discover, at last, the view toward which they had edged...”
